Oktober Guard Assault Helicopter (GI Joe)

I wanted another faction/army for the RTS-style wargame I'm creating, hence the Oktober Guard (the Warsaw Pact equivalent to the Joes) vehicles.

I needed the Oktober Guard to have a helicopter and I didn't really like the semi official toy I saw online. Besides, Russian helicopters don't get more iconic than the Hind so I modeled this after that helicopter. I didn't know much about them except what you see in Rambo movies, but turns out this thing is enormous; basically a fast flying tank. It is modeled 1:100 scale but I had to make the rotors 1/4" smaller in diameter than they are supposed to be to fit on my print bed in one piece.

The chassis is printed with supports which are difficult to clean off. Be very careful when removing supports from around the weapon pylons as they will break off without a lot effort. (I used a needlenose pliers.)
The gun pod is printed upside down with supports (simple to clean off) and glued to the underside.
Main rotor (no supports) can be put on and taken off for storage.
Tail rotor and weapons print without supports and are glued in place. The weapons just press onto the pylons.
The stand is something I am experimenting with. I glued a magnet to the underside of the helicopter and put another one on the stand.

I created these files and they are free to download. Since these files are based off of a well known physical object (and because I did not copy anyone's IP) I do not have to place restrictions on how you can use them. If you have been re-directed to this file from a source other than my site on thingiverse.com they have done so without my permission (and as you might be able to tell - it kinda annoys me).
