DIY cd rom stepper motor linear rail
First off, a huge shout out and thanks to Mr Darwin for his great idea on using mouldable epoxy for the lead screw bolt. Please have a look at his YouTube channel for lots of great idea's and his projects.

Things you will need besides a printer and filament lol.
1:) Hand mouldable Epoxy putty stick.
2:) Paper clip.
3:) Cd rom or DVD rom stepper motor.
4:) 3mm rod ( Found with stepper motor in Cd rom.)

Make a little ball of Mouldable Epoxy and press in the cup of slider nut, scrape off any over flow, align center of cup with at least two threads of the lead screw and lightly press down to form lead screw ridges in the epoxy, remove slider nut and let epoxy to set. Clean threads if needed

Unfold paper clip and cut 10 to 12 mm length and straiten best as possible. assemble the linear rail, and push the paper clip under the lead screw and into the hole in the slider nut.
Paper clip wire is to hold tension between the slide nut and lead screw.

Wire stepper and let your imagination Spark.

Their are two versions of the slider nut, one has the 3mm shaft size slightly bigger depending on your printer tolerance.

If you need mounting points feel free to ask .
