Description

Battery charging unit for the FIRST Robotics Competition. Holds & charges 4 batteries in one compact, easy (relatively) to carry unit. Parts were machined out of 3/4" plywood (.72" actual thickness) on a ShopBot Buddy CNC router table. Front, back, sides, and center should slot together. Bottom pieces need to be attached with screws. I recommend wood glue on everything. Images shown feature the Noco Genius G4 chargers but the design will also accommodate the 3-bank DualPro chargers available on AndyMark. Run all of the cabling through the ovals in the center to keep everything nice and clean. Part was designed in VCarve and vectors were tweaked in Illustrator. Update: Lots of people have been asking about the Noco Genius G4 chargers so here are a few tips about them. - You'll need to cut apart the cables that come with the unit and attach your own anderson plugs. - They are awesome for long-term battery storage as they can keep the batteries topped off with a trickle charge. - They charge FRC batteries VERY SLOWLY. Each bank maxes out at 1.1A so they won't keep up with the pace of most competitions unless you have several of them and lots of batteries.
