improved version of the surface marker buoy (SMB) line reel ... original version had neutral buoyancy which was not optimal. When releasing SMB it is always better when the reel has negative buoyancy and can be optionally "dropped" into the blue in order to let the line/rope unfold/unroll.

This new version contains three ballast compartmets which can be easily filled e.g. by lead wire or in my case by 4,5 mm lead balls (pellets) used in air guns. When suggested ballast used the resulting buoyancy is conveniently negative.

size designed in a way to enable glue-less assembly simply by pressing the two parts together (e.g. in a vice). Check the orientation of the two parts before pressing ... disassembly and adjustment of orientation is virtually impossible !
