Description
Magnetic attached brackets for the print bed on the fabrikator mini, one stays attached to the printer, the other to the bed, 3 variations can be generated depending if you want keying or not, designed around 6x4mm cylindrical magnets.
I'm using a keyed set for the back brackets and a non keyed set for the front and this is working really well :)
You will find you need to adjust the z axis, I'm probably going to design a better z axis end stop mount as this has highlight how much of a pain in the arse the stock design is.
Ok, some installation instructions :D
Installing the brackets to the bed is fairly straight forward, so I won't cover that but installing the brackets to the carriage and installing the magnets can be "fun"
First things first, with the magnets you may need to drill the holes to get them in, this can make them a little loose, if this is the case, push the magnet half way through the front and apply some superglue the back before pushing the magnets flush again, this will make sure some of it gets down the sides and gets a good fix.
Installing the brackets to the bed can be a pain, to do this I removed the front (for access), then removed the clips holding in the smooth rods on one side, I could then slide them out to release the carriage.
Re-assembly is the opposite of dis-assembly :D
Getting it on and off of the belt is a pain.

Installed the brackets and made a test print, so far so good (but don't forget to adjust the z-azis :D)

Works as planned, no major issues, it has reinforced the need for a better z-axis endstop arrangement though, that screw is a pita to get too and it does not stay put for long, something attached to the front or side panel makes a lot more sense.
