Christmas Train

I recently discovered that some people are selling my design files as their own. While you are free to make and sell models from my designs, the files themselves are a gift to the community for teaching me so much and should remain that way. Don't be a jerk.

This is designed to use 3mm plywood or MDF.
I love trains and finally decided to design one. This only took about 20 hours design time which isn't bad considering I'm not a pro at this. It has cartoonish proportions because it's supposed to be put on display during Christmas time. It would be easy enough to modify to be more realistic but my wife loves it the way it is. There is a steam engine, coal car, open top car, log carrying car, and a caboose. I've included a CDR, DXF, DWG and PDF files.

I am using a Chinese 40w laser cutter with Corel Draw X7. I understand that my laser cutter does things differently than many of the nicer consumer brands so your results may not be the same. Please leave me a comment if you see areas I can change to make things easier for other laser cutters. The Chinese laser cutter only recognizes color and white, so the different colors are only for visual reference in my files. Some cutters treat colors differently and this may cause problems for some. I apologize but I only have my tools to work with and test.
