Description

I saw the Plastic Bottle Cutter Kickstarter and their website;

https://plasticbottlecutter.com/

Basically you can take any plastic bottle and make cordage out of it. Which is useful when you are out of civilization and need cordage. 10 loops from a 2 liter bottle can tow a car. It's also a great way to reuse plastic soda bottles. If you make the strips thin enough you can weave it into multi strand rope, or a belt, or fabric. With heat from a heat gun it shrinks to fit any surface exactly. So you can make plastic handle protectors for all your tools. Just wrap the plastic cordage around the handle and hit it with the heat gun for a few seconds.

But $50 (US) for shipping one of them to me wasn't really economical. So I modeled it in Tinkercad and printed it out on the Zortrax printer we have in the shop.

The center is meant to be held upright and the horizontal slot is for a piece of a 9mm snap off blade. The slider then slides onto the center piece. The hole in the back is meant for a M5 thumb screw. My intention is to thread the hole with a tap.

Additional Materials you will want:
1 9mm snap off knife blade (they have them at every hardware and craft stores as well as at WallyWorld)
1 M5 Thumb screw (I think they have these at that hardware store that is named after a playing card, but I ordered mine online from SneezeBay)

I've tested this and it's working pretty well so far. I don't have the thumb screw in it yet, I gotta get to the hardware store for that.
