Description
This my my first hand project for e-Nable. I built the Raptor Reloaded: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:596966 and I wanted to add a faceplate which will both protect the strings and provide a cosmetic enhancement.
I have provided a plain faceplate version and one on which I placed a Star Trek logo. You can add any number of things to the plain - a logo, initials, a cook insignia, etc. I used thermoforming for the first time and is was very easy to mold this to the shape of the hand. There is a great video on how to thermoform PLA here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BihhKHjguZY
I attached the faceplate using the two screw holes nearest the wrist on the bottom (palm down). It attached easily and solidly. I drilled the holes after thermoforming. I believe this can be scaled to fit the scale of the Raptor Reloaded hand you have, but I have not tried that yet. The stls fit a hand printed at 40% to 100%.
As this is my first e-Nable project, I would appreciate any suggestions you have on this idea.
