Silica Gel Canister (30mm for filament reels)

Yet another container for silica gel pellets, but I made this an optimum size to fit inside filament spools and boxes.

I found some other containers too big to fit inside the centre of some of my filament spools, so I made this one that should fit nearly all spools.

I measured about 8 different spools and found one had a centre hole of only 31mm. So this canister is 30mm in diameter to fit inside these spools. Also, some spools have a wider outer diameter and are therefore narrower. The height of this canister take is into consideration.

This canister will also fit easily on the outer edge of the filament in the corner section of the storage box.

It holds up to 18 grams of silica gel, which is more than sufficient for a 1KG reel.

Use press-zip poly bags (about 35CM x 35CM / 12/13" sq) and buy a 500 gram tub of silica gel with the colour indicator that shows when it needs restoring in an oven (remove from canister to do this)
