Description

April is Autism Awareness month. To help bring some attention to this condition, I thought that I would combine the puzzle piece, the recognized symbol for Autism, and the brain together in a striking sculpture/puzzle.

Admittedly it's a simple puzzle, but that doesn't stop the symbolic nature of this object from coming through. It makes a great conversation starter and fitting the two halves together is oddly comforting.

For information about Autism and Autism awareness, please visit Autism Speaks.

6 files are provided, but there are really only 2 main pieces:
AutismAwareness_BrainPuzzle_Extrude.stl
AutismAwareness_BrainPuzzle_Recess.stl

The remaining for are halves of the two files above. This was done so that all of the surface detail of the brain could be preserved by gluing pieces together, and hopefully hiding the seems in the layer lines.

Please post pictures of your makes if you decide to make this.

Developed by Graham Holt at the Laboratories of Cognitive Neuroscience of Boston Children's Hospital.

This object was modeled in TinkerCAD.
