Bofors gun 40mm light AA

A 3D print of a bofors gun, cannot recall where I found it cannot be sure it even prints

The file "Bofors with jacks lowered" is at approx 1/100 for Flames of war etc. The original model is standing very high on the adjusting jacks I have lowered this which ought to help it print better.

Bofors lowered beefed is a more robust model with a separate thicker barrel

If the barrel breaks here is the way I made a barrrel for the model in the pics

My solution (takes a couple of goes to get right)

Take some 1.5 dia (unshrunk) heat shrink sleeving (4 feet for about $2)
Find a piece of rod approx. same dia as broken off stub of gun (eg. darning needle)
Slide a 1" length of heatshrink about 1/8" inch over the rod
shrink down with a heat gun or powerful hairdrier.
While still floppy pull the heatshrink straight
then slide out the short section of rod
you now have a gun barrel which flairs out at one end to slide over the gun stub
fix in place with superglue
trim to length
resulting gun barrel is very tough and will take acrylic paint.
