Description

The 'Mouse Tail-Tidy' is a simple solution to keep the cable of a wired computer mouse coiled and tidy when not in use. This was designed at the request of an IT department that had a large plastic box full of computer mice. The cables always ended up in a big tangle... this is their solution.

Regardless of the fact that many people use a wireless mouse these days plenty of people still use wired mice... and some prefer wired as they don't suffer the delay / accuracy / precision issues some (but not all) wireless mice suffer from. This is a great little solution for people who still use / prefer a wired mouse.

It is also a great solution for people travelling with a laptop as it secures the Mouse's cable around the mouse so it's kept tidy and easy to get in/out of bags etc. This is a handy little gadget for anyone travelling with a laptop as well as IT departments with a need to tidy up their 'mouse box'.

This is a really simple and small print. The design itself eliminates the need for a springy clip or clamp which, if 3D printed, will stretch and lose their tension relatively quickly. The 'Mouse Tail-Tidy' doesn't work on tension at all. The end result is very simple and works with a single 90 degree turn to secure two lengths of a Mouse cable together.

The installation process is quick and easy:

(1) Wind your Mouse cable around the Mouse

(2) Push your 'Mouse Tail-Tidy' over two of the lengths of cable ensuring one is as close as possible to the free end of the cable

(3) Gently rotate 90 degrees clockwise ensuring both lengths of cable are trapped inside the 'Mouse Tail-Tidy' slots. Once installed correctly the cables cannot move out sideways, up or down and there is no need for spring tension.

To remove the 'Mouse Tail-Tidy' just turn it anti-clockwise 90 degrees and pull it off the cable lengths.

The Mouse Tail-Tidy is a small print with thin areas so treat them with care and they can be used many times... but take care not to apply excess force when starting to lock them as this could cause them to break.

Please refer to the images and print settings for additional information and use guidance.

Note: If you like this take a look at the rest of my practical and fun designs.... and please post images of your 'Mouse Tail Tidy's in use for other members to see.
