Description
This Thing provides a way to mount 30cm flexible LED strips, like these ones from EBay :
There are files for single, dual and triple banks of strips.
For each mount, you'll need :
Hardware :
30cm LED Strip/s
1 X 15mm M3 bolt
1 X M3 nut
ABS Glue (or Superglue if you're using PLA)
Printed Parts :
1 X MountWithEndCap (Single, Dual or Triple)
1 X MountWithNoEndCap (Single, Dual or Triple)
1 X Holder (Single, Dual or Triple)
1 X Swivel Set (Standard or tall)
I printed my parts in ABS, and used some ABS glue to stick all the parts together. It would also work just fine with PLA, using SuperGlue to assemble.
I'm sure there's some funky way to use interlocking parts to put it all together, but my 3D modelling skills just aren't that good :)
I've included a few different swivel sets for some flexibility.
I did have a go at a diffuser, which didn't really work with white ABS, but I've included the files anyway - would love to see how it goes with some transparent filament, so if you have some, please give it a go and let me know how it came out.
To assemble, glue the two channels end to end into the holder. Make sure the end cap is at an end, not the middle!
Glue the head of the swivel set (the part with a single flange) to the centre on the back of the holder.
Insert the head of the swivel into the base and fasten the M3 bolt.
PS
This is my first attempt at publishing a Thing, so please let me know what improvements I can make!
