Description

This holder is primarily for larger rolls up to 10kg as seen in the picture. This is the third iteration as it started larger and more complicated specifically for 10kg rolls, but I ended up simplifying it and making it more universal so it can fit rolls as small as 1kg as well. It can also be printed by those with smaller printers. You will need a minimum build area of 250mm in one direction. It will use 345 gram of plastic total for all pieces if printed with the supplied settings. The cost of materials is about $10 plus your plastic. If using a 10kg roll, it is recommended to print the roller end caps in PC but PLA or ABS will work just fine too if that's what you have available. The holder is extremely durable and has been tested to 200 pounds (me standing on the rollers) and should last for many years. The 2 non printed parts you will need are 608zz bearings and a length of 1 inch or 25.5mm rod in diameter. I used 1 inch diameter wood rod that can be bought at most hardware stores in lengths of 6 feet for about $6. But you may choose to use metal or PVC. You will need 4 bearings and the quality of the bearings is of utmost importance, especially if this is for a 10kg roll. I have tested many bearings including ceramic and these are the bearings that I chose and tested to have the least amount of friction.
