Description
I love my Tatara Frame, but I have found that depending on your cutting service, the holes for the 8mm rods may be a tiny bit oversized, allowing for undesired movement of the rods. To stabilize the rods, you can either print 8 of these, and mount them on the other sides of the rod retainers, or if the Tatara folks have some free time, they may add these to the .dxf files so you can get them cut in one go!
It doesnt matter if the hole on the rod retainer is cut to larger than it should be, as the point of these pieces is to manually tighten them while tightinng the rod retainer as well, to prevent any motion of the smooth rods. I originally printed these rod tighteners, in plain ABS (PLA is fine too) with 100% infill. the reason they have a slot instead of just a screw hole is so one can mount them properly on the Z motor plates to stabilize the bottom of the Z rods, as well as the tops of the Z rods and both ends of the Y rods.
