Description

These parts are for expanding standard M4 nylock nuts to fit the nut traps of the MPCNC. They make MPCNC assembly much more comfortable when using M4 hardware. Designed for the nut traps on the 25mm edition of MPCNC, but I expect they will fit all 3 MPCNC variants. Fusion 360 files are provided, in case you have to adjust the files to fit your particular M4 nuts.

Two types of nut expander are provided:

  • The normal nut expander. This is for general use when building an MPCNC. You will need about 30 of these, maybe more.
  • The "Short" nut expander is for use in the Roller and RollerM MPCNC-parts. The slots for nuts in these parts are pretty short, so I designed a shorter (and slightly weaker) nut expander to use here. You will need to print 8 of these.
Warning: The short nut expanders fit very tightly in the space on the Roller and RollerM parts. You might have to gently hammer them in. Once you have hammered them in, you probably will not be able to remove the nuts from the Roller parts.

Thanks to mbef for the original idea. I tried his nut encasements, but they turned out too thin when I printed them with my 0.4mm nozzle.
