Update 05.07.18
A hydrofoil allows kitesurfing in very low wind conditions. Unfortunately, they are quite expensive. Therefore, I decided to build my own.
I used for both wings an Eppler 817 profile
The wing area is about 600cm2 / 200cm2
The mast is a Manta 2 aluminium mast
buyed here: https://www.mantafoils.com/e-shop/Manta-aluminum-mast-production-scrap-p59642799
For the fuselange i choosed a 20x20 stainless steel square tube
The 3D-Printed wings were covered with gfk, the mast-box is also laminated with gfk.
But be aware, positiv laminating means a lot of sanding !
The Board is a North freestyle fish 5`2"
The laminated wings are very stiff. The mast to board connection with the 3d mast adapter is not as stiff as i wished. Perhaps a laminated mast base plate is the better choice.
