Hi,
here is a metric lead screw nut for 2040 extrusion.
Its mounted via M4 bolts and M4 5.5mm brass insert is needed to be bolted to the extrusion. 5$ 100 pieces from aliexpress. As extrusión holes are 5.5mm ID.
Why 2040 Bosche aluminum extrusion and Hiwin MGN12?
The great thing is that the bolts on the hiwin carriage coincide with the 2040 channels, see picture. Which makes 50mm 2040 extrusion a great universal carriage plate.
Why TR10x2mm?
Because it's ideal for very long axis foam cutter. Up to 3m in length it's simpler to setup than 3 meter long belts and more precise and reliable, while providing the proper resolution. of course on 2600mm long axis, what i am building it will have maximum speed of say 500mm/min before whipping, but that's well enough for a foam cutter
of course simple cnc axis could be formed via that combo.
