Description

Amino 125 STB Wall Mount

The Amino 125 STB is a device that takes a digital media stream and converts it into an analog output for use on a TV or other display. The 125 is an older device, but you can read about them here:

(I have no association with these guys, I just use their stuff as part of my job)

The 125 was designed more for home or office use, and not the industrial type setting that I'm using them in. So the "stand/mount" that comes with them is all but useless to me (the black thing holding the 125 upright). Unfortunately, there really isn't a good way to attach this curved device to a flat surface. So I set out to design a mount for them.

I'm not sure I should call it a remix since I butchered that design so much, but he gets the credit for the inspiration of this mount.

There are 4 parts to the mount:

  1. Wall mount (red)
  2. Cable brace (orange)
  3. Lower mount (blue)
  4. Upper mount (green)

Basically, you screw the Wall Mount to the wall, place the Cable Brace over the mount, use the Lower Mount to secure the Cable Brace in place, and then attach the Upper Mount. Then the 125 slides into place. Plug everything in and secure the cables to the Cable Brace using zip ties (zip tie slots built in to the brace)

It sounds more complicated than it is. Once you have all the pieces printed, you'll see how everything dovetails together.

I only use this mount in a vertical position, so gravity and friction hold everything together. If you use it some other way, you should probably add a drop of glue to hold things in place. BUT don't use more than a drop. The wall mount screw holes are covered by the upper and lower mounts. If they are glued in place, you can remove the screws....

I've used a small sliver of paper wedged in to add friction to things before....
