Description

I needed a rack to keep all of my 3D printer tools/accessories neatly organized. Since my printer is housed in an unfinished portion of my basement, I designed a rack that fits between two exposed wood studs so I could screw it between them. Thus, I designed this rack to be 264mm in width. If your studs are not that spacing, you may need to adjust the model. Sorry, I had not yet learned parametric modeling when I built this model, so you'll have to adjust it by hand. Or add wood shims. ;-)

This rack organizes the following:

  • A multitool (e.g. Leatherman), needle-nose pliers, and the flush snippers (or any three similar two-handled tools)
  • A power plug (I haven't installed a switch for my PSU, so when I'm not using it, I unplug my 3D printer and hang the plug from this rack, keeping it off my workbench)
  • 9 slots for tweezers or binder clips
  • 3 sizes of screw drivers
  • An X-acto knife (blade down into a slot for safety)
  • A 3D print removal tool (long spatula)
  • 5 box cutter blades
  • 3 microSD cards
  • A USB stick
  • A glue stick
  • A digital caliper
  • 4 Allen wrenches (sized to the 4 that came with my Anet A8)
  • 4 pens of various sizes
  • A rotary tool (e.g. Dremmel) head (I have my rotary tool mounted to the wall and use an extension that's much easier for fine handiwork)
  • 6 rotary tool bit

This rack is wider than my print bed, so I split it into two parts with a tongue-and-groove joint. They friction-fit together just fine, but you could glue it if you felt the need.

I put a lot of effort into these designs. Even a small tip is greatly appreciated!
