Ultimate RetroPie Tribute Case

This is my second remix of this great case with further refinements a few improvements and a cool new feature FUNCTIONING BUTTONS !!! The buttons now safely Shutdown and Restart the Retropie

Summary of the changes I have made:

• UPDATE

• Added logo back onto case with a couple choices
• 0.4mm extruded logo
• 1mm extruded logo
• 1mm cut out logo

• Removed logo from side of case (wasn't happy with the way it printed/looked)

• addressed thermal issues:
  • added more cut outs to the bottom of the case
  • enlarged and added more cut outs to the lid of the case
  • added mounting holes for a 60x10mm cooling fan
  • strongly suggest the use of Heat sinks on the Pi chips
• added a tongue to the top of the Pie case with locating ridge
• removed tongue from pie lid for easier better printing
• added groove with locating indent to pie case lid
• deepened button holes and added 6mm hole for momentary switches
• added hole to buttons for press fit onto momentary buttons

After some time gaming on my first remixed case I noticed that if the room was warm 24degrees celsius it wasn't long before the Pi would reach 80degrees and begin throttling the CPU slowing down game play. My above changes address this issue as well as add a cool new feature, the case buttons are no longer just decretive but function to safely shutdown the Pie and turn it back on.

Some preparation of your RetroPie distribution will be required but this is very simple and I provide full instructions.

Lastly You will need to solder 2 header pins on to your Raspberry Pi Board (don't worry it is not as scary as it sounds).

Hardware required:
8 x 3mm screws 6mm long (optional)
1 M3x20mm socket cap screw (optional)
1 M3x15mm socket cap screw (optional)

The screws are optional if you prefer you can use Super glue

2x Header Pins, Solder and a soldering iron.
