Description
So I originally designed the Prusa i3 MK2 LED Lighting mount a while back and have used it since to success. But there were some flaws.
I fixed the z axis homing issue by making the front part of the attachment point, to the frame, thinner.
I fixed the fragility of the mounts by adding more material between the arm and the light mount part.
I used an LED light panel (though you could use light strips like in the first one) instead of the led strips. The panels I used were actually dome light replacements for a car but they worked ok. I could fit two of the panels per arm. Here is the part I used: https://www.ebay.com/itm/10X-Festoon-T10-BA9S-White-LED-48SMD-Panel-Interior-Dome-Map-Light-Bulb-Lamp-12V/251424860511?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
#####Update
After a day the light panels were falling off with the provided adhesive. I am still using them but ended up using hot glue to adhere them to the plastic.
These consume a lot more power than the strips did -- so we will see how it works out.
Either way -- even if I end up going back to the strip lights this mount is going to be a lot better than the first!
I uploaded the Fusion 360 and the STEP file for anyone who needs. To get the other one just flip it.
##EDIT
Yes I know I have build tak on the bed -- I couldn't find any decent PEI sheets so I threw what I had on it. :)
