Description
The openSCAD script provides a configurable mounting bracket for use with the Ubiquity Unifi Cloud Key (UCK) Controller. Product link: https://www.ubnt.com/unifi/unifi-cloud-key/
NOTE: This item fits the smaller of the products in the cloud key product line, not Generation 2 or 2+. More specifically, the design was created for and verified with an older version using a micro-USB connector.
The bracket can be prepared so that the UCK is mounted in a lay-flat configuration, or in an upright, on-edge configuration. The top-level geometry section of the script allows the user to specify the desired openSCAD result. Two components are provided. One serves as a wrap-around for the UCK, and the second component serves as a base.
The wrap component can be configured with a closed bottom and used alone for a low-profile mount. Configuring the wrap component with an "open" bottom allows it to be "sprung" over the UCK. Here, use of the base component can be used to help stabilize the open-bottom wrap component when mounting the UCK. The base component also increases the gap available for convection airflow cooling between the UCK and the mounting surface.
STL files have provided for both the lay-flat and upright brackets with open-bottom wrap components. One or two brackets can be used to mount the UCK, depending on how secure the UCK is to be mounted.
This is a remix of a similar bracket I prepared for a USB disk drive enclosure that has the same angled edges as the UCK. This version reflects the different size of the UCK.
