Description

I was having issues with my PETSMART 17-3/4"(Bulb) fluorescent light hoods in which the bulbs would burn out quickly and being there was only 1 light per hood, there wasn't enough light to sufficiently cover the plants within the aquarium. After one of the ballasts burned I gave up on the fluorescent setup and decided it was best to invest in the LED lights and parts so that I am not constantly replacing bulbs and drivers in the future. now the tank looks bright and the plants look like they are finally growing healthily.

Remove the internal components and remove the plastic parts on the sides, fins and screw collar. Leave all of the screw collars on the bottom/top of the hoods. Keep the screws and reuse them with these new pieces. Print 1 set of left and right. Use the existing 2 fluorescent sockets from each hood along with the 2 new parts purchased. The light sockets press fit into the printed parts and are held down by the reused screws. Wire up the sockets using the existing wire as depicted in the wiring diagram provided with the bulbs. MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS RIGHT! Otherwise you will end up buying a new bulb or two.

I provided my GCODE along with this as reference. Tell me if you like it.

From Ebay, two of these: G13 T8 Fluorescent & LED Tube Lamp UL Holder Socket Fittings AC100-660V

From Ebay, two of these: 110/120V-LED F15T8 Tube Light (Rotatable)-Daylight-18"(17-3/4" Includes Pins)-7W
