This is a basic one leg stand for a metal detector like the Bounty Hunter LR Pro.
It's designed to keep the detector out of the mud while digging in a wet field.
As rod, use a 20mm dark grey high pressure PVC pipe. It should be cut to the length where the inserted magnet in the tip can reach some metal to be locked to the handle while searching.
Insert a 8mm Neodyn magnet in the tip and glue it. Add a small piece of metal to your detector handle to keep the leg fixed in place.
Update;
Two alternative tips are added.
Handling:
When starting to search, fix the leg with the magnet to your handle. When you have to put your detector away, loose the leg. It will point down. Push it into the wet earth.
When you pick up your detector, push the leg forward until it is fixed to the handle by the magnet again.
Real world pictures will follow.
Additional requirements:
2* M3x14 screw + nut
1* M3x30 screw + nut
Fill holes in the tip and the PipeMount with epoxy to enhance stability if required (e.g. printing with PLA)
Add On:
If it's not completely fixed to your handle, add a small bit of e.g. Neoprene between the handle and the bottom and top mounts-
