This dock is two parts:
- A smartphone dock which is similar to a previous design, but completely redesigned using parametric modeling (stopped using sketchup). Generic phone docks you can buy on amazon use fussy springs or magnets that aren't secure. You also end up fussing with cables, or using wireless charging which not all phones have, is slow, heats your phone up a lot, and doesn't work for android auto. This is a one handed, drop it in and its connected over USB with no effort.
This smartphone dock is designed to support a google pixel 2 with a thin case on it, its 76.8mm wide, and 11.8mm deep. These dimensions are very easy to adjust in my model, so if you have a different phone, measure it and contact me and I will make new model.
The USB connector is a cheap Aukey USB-C connector, which is designed to fit perfectly, you can buy a variety pack here: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C2OAFRE/. Again, the dimensions are parameterized so If you have a different USB connector you want to use, measure it and contact me and I will make a model for you.
- Accessory clip that custom fits into the dash of a 2017/2018 Honda CRV using tension/friction alone. There are no adhesives that leave residue, no suction cups that fail, no questionable vent clips. It doesn't require disassembling the dash, it is secure and it is easy to remove. It has a slot mechanism so you can fit different size cradles for different phones or whatever you want there. Its designed to have the phone sit to the top left of the infotainment center, it doesn't block anything and is prime unused real estate. Even though this car has android auto, I prefer to have the full version of Waze up and running while driving.

Both the clip and the phone were printed using ABS with 30% infill, no supports are needed.
