Yet another model that paid a visit to the model doctor…
This is a remix of budgiesarecool's letter opener in the shape of a pocket knife, with the following minor improvements to make it easier to print:
- Finally the correct scale (why everyone kept the wrong scale in their remixes, beats me…)
- Manifold models (thanks to MasonIsLegit)
- Everything is positioned in the best orientation for printing.
- The pin and hole are 4Â mm diameter. This makes it easier to ream the hole with a 4Â mm drill if needed.
- Two variations on the pin, one narrower and one fatter, such that you can pick the one that fits best (tip: print all 3 of them at the same time, this will avoid that the filament melts into a messy blob).
- A variation on the handle that has a less steep overhang, this makes it easier to print without needing either supports or a lot of cooling.
- Slightly tighter tolerances, to make it less sloppy.
- I have also provided an alternative blade with a serrated edge, which may be better suited to cut through thicker paper.
And to the person who keeps asking this question: yes, it will probably cut thru cardboard if you print it with sufficiently hard filament! :P
