Description
I needed to provide a crystal ball for a fortune teller to use in an upcoming theater production. I found a great LED kaleidoscope globe for a few dollars at the craft store. It was great except for the base. I thought it looked too modern. I made this to cover the existing base.
In order to make this, I took measurements of the existing base, which is basically a cone intersected with a shallow cylinder. I found a vector molding profile I liked from a home improvement website and did a rotate extrude of it in OpenScad. I picked 12 faces to match up with the twelve zodiac symbols.
