Description
I had some LED lights in metal strips - 10mm wide, 6mm tall, and not long enough to stretch all the way across the top of my Original Prusa i3 MK2 MMU. So I made mounts to sit in the hexagonal holes at the top of the Z axis, with an offset hole for one LED strip, and a simple rectangular band to go around a pair of the light strips.
Print two of mounts and bands. Place the mounts into the hexagonal holes with the offset of one close to the printer frame, the offset of the other facing away from the printer frame. Slide the LED strips into the holes, with 2 of the bands. The bands hold the strips together while each strip is held in one of the offset mounts.
The offset holes are 0.5mm bigger than the light strip, to ensure an easy fit.
It's a little crude but it works and isn't in the way of the MMU extruders. I printed mine with the top side down on the print bed, 0.3mm layers, no supports, sliced in Prusa Control.
