Description

I like to wear hats, but living in a studio, storage space is limited. Some people use shelves and hanging closet organizers, which are bulky, or hooks, which hide the beautiful designs on your hat. My wife asked if there were some way that I could design a thing that held hats and presented them cleanly since there are so many people who spend big money on their clothing, especially the streetwear crowd. So I designed the High Hat.

Customize your High Hat by swapping out colours to match your hats! The model is 50 mm wide, so you can easily stripe it by switching filament. The window at the hinge is 20 mm wide, so it's split into sections of 15 mm, 20 mm, and 15 mm. See Print Settings for more details.

Use a 3M Command Strip (small) and attach it to the back. If you're using it by other High Hats, leave at least 150 mm (6 inches) on all sides for a roomy fit and 75 mm (3 inches) when next to a wall. The spacer file makes it easy to lay out your High Hats.

The current design matches my hat size, which is around 7 3/8". For people with smaller hats, you'll need to scale it down for now while I come up with an appropriate small version of the High Hat. Here's a resource for how to measure your hat size.

There is a small window at the back so you can check if your hat is sitting flat. It also provides an easy way to remove the Command Strip.

Update 2024-12-30: Added STEP file.
