Description
1/10 scale AGM-65 Maverick missile for the Freewing A-10 Thunderbolt II. My goal was to make a stand-off scale version of the missile in case you want to change the load out of your a-10 or if the original missile was lost or damaged. The missile has a pocket for using the mounting plate (Thing Number 2725747) designed by ShadowVFX.
I sized the parts to fit into a 150 mm cube size printer. I changed the Infill density from 15% to 3% to make it lighter. My printer just used a single hourglass shaped fill pattern. The final painted weight was 49 grams. Make sure that you enable support when printing the first stage part as fins do not touch the build plate. All the other parts do not require any additional support.
You only need to print the lens part if you are going to use a clear vacuum formed nose cap. The lens part will also fit on the front of the original foam missile if you use a clear nose cap. The printed nose cap can be used as a vacuum form plug to pull a clear nose cap
I added a new second stage with a slot that will fit the Freewing 90mm F-16 weapon attachment hardware
I added a new first and second stage STL with a hole in it to install a rocket motor.
