Description

This was a fun project inspired by Measured Workshop's "Perpetual Flip Calendar" on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJ1Hv339CgQ

My version came out like so: https://youtu.be/MiAVClo3QSc

You can reference Measured Workshop's instructions on how to insert the tiles, or you can try and follow this little guide here.

Inserting tiles

There are two windows in the box. Choose one of the windows, and insert a stack of tiles that have the following eight odd numbers facing up: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15. Insert the stack into the box with the #1 showing through the window. The second window gets the rest of the tiles, which can be used to make a second stack of seven even number: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14. The #2 should show through that window.

After sliding the door onto the box, the window with the number 1 should be on the bottom, facing you. Now, every time you want to change the day, you flip it backwards (top of the box goes away from you) and you'll reveal the next day's number.

Notes on 3D Printing:

The numbers are a little difficult to read in the video. I planned on painting the numbers black, but my wife wouldn't let me! I think that would be an incredible improvement, so I highly suggest getting some acrylic paint and painting the numbers on the tiles. She claims that she liked how the light had to hit it "just right" to see the number!

I hope you find this to be an enjoyable project. It was fun to design and print.
