Quadstruder K7 v2 - Dual Drive Extruder

May 7, 2018
Description
Updated version of the quadstruder using stainless steel gears instead of brass. The brass gears in the previous version were showing a fair amount of wear after several months of use. The stainless gears should last longer, but I haven't tested them for very long.
Designed to work with 1.75mm filament. It uses 2 filament drive gears and two gears to keep the gears in sync. The secondary gear is tilted to adjust the pressure on the filament. Shorter 2mm M3 set screws may be needed on some of the drive gears if the ones they come with are too long.
Parts:
* 1 x Nema 17 Motor (I prefer high torque 400 step motors - [amazon*](https://amzn.to/2jD9fXa) or [filastruder](https://www.filastruder.com/collections/electronics/products/high-torque-axis-motor) or [robotdigg](https://www.robotdigg.com/product/1250/0.9-step-angle-NEMA17-stepper-motors) )

* 2 x [MR105 Bearings*](http://amzn.to/2EjfFHE)
* 1 x [5 x 30mm Dowel Pin](https://www.robotdigg.com/product/1091/3mm,-4mm-or-5mm-needle-or-locating-pin)

* M3 screws (four M3x35mm, one M3x10mm socket cap screws, 2mm set screws)
Make sure there aren't any collisions as the gears turn, the set screws should be out of the way, the gears on the motor shaft should be slightly lower than the ones on the 30mm shaft so the drive gear doesn't rub against the bearing.
