Description

I love designing things that scratch an itch. If you have one of those Samsung LCD TVs with the chrome, spider-like base, and you want to raise the TV up a little higher, this is the thing for you!

You see, I own one of those TVs, and the stand works fairly well, until you want to put a soundbar underneath them. I realized that the soundbar would fit underneath perfectly, but I'd have to raise the stand about 57mm off the surface to do so.

At first, I used four, sturdy business card holders. Believe it or not, Moo business cards come in fantastic, sturdy boxes. I hate throwing them away, and when I started brainstorming a long time ago about how I could raise the stand up, I first thought about 3D designing and printing some risers. My laziness overcame my creativity, and I just put some boxes under the TV underneath each of the stand's corners. Worked perfectly but it was an inelegant and fairly ugly solution.

Months later, I realized it would be fairly simple to work something up and, if I designed it to be symmetrical, it would mean only designing a single object, and printing it four times. Simple!

The result of that design is what you see here.

I hope this helps someone raise their Samsung TV Stand up just the right amount!
