Description

Drawer organiser system that can be adjusted and extended as needed.

Rails

These can be stretched to the required length in your slicer. I printed these on-end, in vase (or spiralizer) mode with a 0.4mm nozzle.

The rails have a 3mm groove running through one face. This is to enable a printed tray to be placed underneath with the lip of the tray sitting in the grooves.

Trays

At the moment one example tray is included in this 'thing'. The example is 100x200 meaning a box with internal dimensions of 90x190.

They are not essential but are easy to design. The tray needs to be 10mm larger in both dimensions that the internal dimensions of the box section. It can be as thick as you like (I printed mine at 1mm thick) but it needs a 1mm ridge printed around the edge of the tray to sit into the grooves on the rails. This ridge should be around 3mm high.

Connectors

Connectors are provided for corners, 3 and 4 way connectors and straight connectors to connect multiple rails into longer sections than my printer could handle.

Measuring

Rails can be measured to the measurements that you want for the internal dimensions of the final box section. The rails are 10mm thick, so the outer dimensions will be 20mm bigger in both directions.

If using a straight connector for multiple rails, subtract 10mm from one of the rails

Fitting into a drawer

If you plan to fit this into a drawer, make sure that the overall dimensions of the system are at least 4mm less that the internal dimensions of the drawer. This is to accommodate the bulk of the connectors that form the outer wall of the system.
