Description

Printing out specific enemies that you know your party is going to face is nice. But sometimes you run into those situations where you realize that your party is far stronger than you recalled when you were planning the encounter so you need to spontaneously throw in 5 Owlbears along with the boss monster you were initially planning, just to keep things interesting. For this purpose I've been amassing an army of generic enemy minis, complete with skulls to let you know that they're bad guys. All these minis are remixes of multiple different files on Thingiverse I've been collecting over the years. I tried to include as many remix links as I could remember where I got said files. This collection will be growing as I create more and more generic enemies for my own needs, so check back every so often. Included are some counter pegs that are quite useful for keeping track of each enemy's individual health and statuses. To use these counter pegs just place them on the same coordinates as the mini you wish to add them to and rotate them as needed for each individual mini. All minis are scaled for 25mm hexes.

Important notes for each mini:

Plain Skull:
Prints great with minimal supports mostly needed to fill the gaps in teeth. Have not tested printing completely without supports but seems theoretically possible.

Beefy Skull:
These Buff Skulls definitely need supports but the supports are easy to remove due to the large gap between the arms and the base of the model. Easy Print.

Kong Skull:
The Monkey skulls need supports and it's somewhat difficult to clean the underbelly without busting out the sandpaper.

Winged Skulls:
The wings are super duper thin and might require some extra reinforcement after you carefully remove the supports. I personally spread out a couple of drops of superglue on the underside of the wings before priming and sanding. Removes a lot of the detail on the bottom, but you're likely to have the bottom detail be lost due to the support materials anyways. You really don't notice it unless you're picking them up and looking for it anyways.

Hermit Crab Skull:
Requires support material and it is VERY difficult to remove and clean the underside of the model because of the low clearance underneath it. Best option I found was to remove the support material underneath the head/neck of the hermit crab and leave the support materials underneath his skull shell as it's difficult to notice anyways. (Might redo the support materials on this one by hand later to make it print easier without supports?)

Octopus Skull:
Prints great without supports!

EDIT DEC 2021:
I've no intention of adding to this collection or refining these prints further, in my personal use over the years, the generic skulls and the monkeys get the most use at my table. The flying skulls wings have all broken off and are no longer in use. If you'd like to make changes feel free to remix the heck out of em!
