Description
I really like Polysquare's fan adapter, just not the scheme for putting the fan in - with partially screwing in the course fan screws and then sliding them into the slots. I wanted a more solid connection, so I added pockets to slide in 8-32 nuts to use long 8-32 socket cap screws for a more positive attachment. I added to the loft from inlet to outlet to make the overhang for printing more gentle and added material to the area where the nuts are. I also made a notch near one of the four mounting holes to clear the wire for the fan to come inside the shroud where it exists the Noctua fan.
Since you already need to print this will support for the hole where the power switch/power connector goes, you will need it in the nut pocket areas anyway.
I only made these mods to the version with the printer cable bundle and power input connector on the same side, as that is the version I used for my set up. I tried to do a version with the part threaded for the fan cap screws, but the threads tore out too easily with such large screws, so switched it to pockets for the hex nuts.
