Description
As a new PrintrBot owner, I really liked abrumm's PrintrBot Lasercut Spool, but there's a problem in the design. There should be an engrave layer and separate vector cut layer. Otherwise the logo will cut into the spool.
I revised the original in InkScape, put the logo in layer 0, and the vector cut on layer 1. When I used the print driver to export to my Full Spectrum Laser, it just combined the layers. So I've included a second version with no logo.
Some modifications: when we cut, the slots are too far apart and the t-slots need to be longer for m3x16. That's now the nologo-FIXED version.
One more version: We've switched to 1/8" plywood as it's simpler to cut than 1/4" with the 40w Laser. R3 added holes for securing filament as well. The last file is the 1/8" version, Printrbot_Spool_nologo_125_r3.svg.
I'm going to do continue to do a little bit more work on this and optimize down to 4 bolts from 8.
