Update: 10/24/2018
The original slider I found just didn't last that long. It would move with the slightest touch.
So, I did a redesign of the slider. It is now has a spring loaded tension mechanism. It is still all 3D printable! Just a little dab of super glue to glue the spring to the inside of the new slider. Just use glue on one side. It does take a very thin blade to push the spring up to get the slider clipped onto the frame. But after it is on - works great (for the last week at least). Hopefully it will work longer - only time will tell.
So for now, Do not use Slider.stl. Instead use "Slider for spring.stl" and "Spring V2.stl".
Yet another Dishwasher sign!
I have been wanting to design a sign for our dishwasher that was unique. While doing that my wife gave her request for a sign. So.... a redesign. I sure someone else has done this - I didn't look - but I like the challenge of making my own designs.
It come in three parts. There is only .2 mm spacing between all the parts. The raised letters and letter 'sockets' are a press fit. Just a little bit of force was needed to insert them together.
The slider was another story. While it has the same .2mm spacing the filament I used (MakerGeeks Maker Series PLA 'Dark as Night') It didn't flex at all to snap it over the base. So, a little more filing than I like was needed on the slider rails.
Uses two Neodymium Disc magnets 12mm X 3mm super glued to the back.
Filament used;
MakerGeeks Maker Series PLA 'Dark as Night'
MakerGeeks Maker Series PLA 'White HOT White'
Great filament, very consistent printing. Prints at 235 degrees C.
Designed in Fusion 360.
