Ultimate Cam Mount

Stay on your print by following with the Z axis. This mount is fully adjustable. There are 3 different options for cameras: Logitec C270 (720p), Logitec C910, and a blank mount that an existing cam mount can be attached to. I designed this mount for the CR10s and it mounts to the Y stepper pulley cover. I use the cam with an OctoPi. This will work on other printers depending on how the stepper is mounted. The additional weight is on the Z steppers which only makes slight movements at the time while printing (to not affect print quality). I used M3 bolts and nuts. You will need longer M3 bolts for mounting. It is good to have an assortment of M3, M4 hardware laying around. I have put some R&D into a better way to mount a cam. What I was looking for is a good field of view on the x-axis (hot end) and to follow the hot end with elevation on taller prints. I only have 2 cams to work with and test. The blank mount opens up customization. As long as your clearance on the cam is higher than the hot end nozzle you are safe from collisions.

The long arm is notched so the cam is not able to move around. The short arm has double pinch bolts to keep it from shifting. Do make sure you tighten the hardware securely. I have used it for a month and it hasn't moved any at all. I do a lot of printing.

As for vibrations. When I was using Cura I did enable acceleration and jerk control. No issues with Simplify3D's default settings either. You do need to use all 4 mounting screws or it gets blurry. There is some minor blurriness in it's worse moments but that hasn't been an issue at all for me. I'm not making a movie with it. If anything it's helping by dampening vibrations.

I added cable clips to the mix. Originally I zip-tied the cam cable to the base. This makes it much easier to remove the cam if needed.
