Description
I wanted to use my Prusa i3 MK2 as a CNC machine for light work. Plotting PCB layouts, and in future, PCB milling and laser etching.
This bracket allows you to add a tool without removing the print head. This is the baseplate. You will need to add your own attachments or use one from below:
Current attachments:
It screws into the extruder stepper motor and also optionally to the fan mount near the PINDA probe for extra stability.
You will need:
Square M3 nuts for however many of the fixing holes you need to use (12max) +1 for the fan attachment screw.
Printed without any supports with the stepper motor plate vertical. (See image of green part above)
DXF file attached for screw hole placement. This can be imported into fusion360 designs using Insert > Insert DXF.
The center circles in the DXF are for the screw thread to go through and the outer circles are for the head to be countersunk. If you use allen hex head screws then these should be sunk by 3mm.
The thread holes are purposefully tight tolerance so things won't move around.
