MEGA RAMPS Kossel Delta Cooling 2020 OpenBeam

I have been looking for a good way to cool my MEGA/RAMPS setup on my delta printer when I found the original design. However it was a little too tall to fit underneath my heated bed and I didn't care for the MEGA mount.

None the less the original had lots of merit.

The first thing was to make the duct smoother with less tunnels. For a dual extruder I left a circle in the duct where it can be drilled out if required.

The mounting plate that attaches to the 2020 Open Beam was extended(110mm). That allowed the fan mount to be part of the original base. I found I only needed two M3 bolts to attach the fan.

A "slide in" mount for the MEGA/RAMPS. There is a little hole on the end for an M3 bolt if the mount proves to be loose, but mine have all been snug with no movement at all.

The overall height to the top of the M3 bolts on the duct is 55.5mm. My Kossel printer bottom corner frame pieces are 60mm tall, the heated bed holders are 5mm above that so there is ample clearance and the cooling does not impact on the heated bed thermistor.

There is more than enough room for all the stepper wiring between the drivers and the bottom of the fan ducting.

The fan noise is minimal at best if a 40 x 10mm fan with 4,000 to 4,500 rpm is used. A fan with higher static pressure will deliver more air flow but I found 4 to 5 CFM works fine.

Update June 26,2019 - Added an EXT version for more airflow. I found with the TMC2208's a little more airflow from the fan helps keep them cooler. Overall height grows by 3mm.
