Acronym Gravity Pocket Anti-ejection Anchor

BEAS

If you own an Acronym jacket you'll be familiar with the Gravity Pocket. You may also be party to the same problem I had - that if you're not paying attention, whatever you're trying to eject out of the pocket can, er, fully eject... on the floor.

The BEAS (Ballistic Ejection Arrestor System, haha) is a simple anchor that sits inbetween the Gravity Pocket zips, and can be attached via a piece of Kevlar thread or fishing line to a phone / device case and prevent that inadvertent launch of your phone to the ground. OK so it may be a bit embarrasing looking when the device is dangling from your sleeve after a botched 'deployment', but it's a hell of a lot better than a cracked phone.

You should measure the cord (especially if you're using several lengths of finer Kevlar sewing thread for example) to somewhere between 8 - 10" for optimum function - i.e. for the BEAS functionality to work while the cord doesn't get too much in the way. Obviously, check whatever cord you're using can bear the stress of the device weight when it's being ejected.

V3.9 is probably the last version of BEAS, and is therfore posted as a finished Thing. I'm currently working on a different route for Gravity Pocket bugfixing which is based around a Gravity Pocket insert which has a gravity assisted lock and rail-guided ejection system (...hence no more string) for an iPhone 5/s case - the idea being that instead of the BEAS route of mitigating failed ejections, I make ejections much more consistent in the first place.

Version History:
V1 - Rough proof of concept (never posted). Designed and printed in little more than a few minutes, initially to establish viability of idea.
V2 - Initial fully functional version (removed). Demo video/photos were shot with V2.
V3 - Refined with more pronounced 'head' to allow usage of thicker cords and also to prevent BEAS falling out easily (removed)
V3.9 - Current. Swept down edges so a lot less likely to catch on loose clothing / luggage.

Build Particulars:
Although it doesn't need supports, V3.9 is quite tricky to print - you'll need cooling going full blast for all the overhang action that's going on. However it is printable.
