Cobra HISS APC (GI Joe)

This design was inspired by the Hasbro toys in the 1980s line-up. An A.P.C. (armored personnel carrier) about the same size as the Joe version but instead based on the iconic Cobra HISS tank. This is a troop transport that can follow the HISS tanks over rough terrain and still be fast enough to keep up with them. The cannons are the same used on the HISS and are mounted in independent turrets for greater flexibility. The gunner is seated inside in a the twin cockpit and can track and fire at multiple targets simultaneously. The rear compartment carries eight soldiers in relative safety with potentially another two or three hanging onto the rear platform for dear life.

It's modeled in what would be full toy scale but is optimized for printing at 25%. Unless you stay in that range your print may have too much or too little detail. My finished model weighs 31 grams so it cost me about 65 cents for the material to print each one.

This file is free to download. It looks a lot like the HISS so for the license I erred on the side of caution. As such neither you nor I are allowed to sell physical copies of this 3-D model. You are allowed (and encouraged) to print copies for your own personal use. ‘Makes’ are appreciated.

By now you can figure out how to print these. Print the 'show' side up whenever possible and supports as needed. Guns are printed so the barrel is parallel to the build plate for greater strength. Tracks printed with the wheels up so you don't have to clean off support material. Also I wanted the canopy to be easy to paint so it's a separate piece.
