Description
A model tokamak for 3D printing.
Have it on your desk as a cool toy or use it as an educational tool for learning about a magnetic confinement fusion device - the tokamak.
This model is intended to have each part printed individually and then assembled.
The TF coils need to be placed over the quadrants before final assembly, and the bottom PF coils need to be slotted into the supports on the TF coils before sliding the TF coils evenly around the tokamak.
Credit to my colleagues at the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) Joe Dobrashian and Chris Wood for their assistance in the design of this model. Credit also to Megan O'Malley who designed and prototyped the stand for the model whilst on a work experience placement at UKAEA.
