Direct drive mount for Geeetech A10 (stock parts)

This mount will allow you to ditch the bowden tube and run your printer as direct driven.
Will work with stock motor and extruder but metal Mk8 extruder is recommended along with Mk8 hobbed drive gear.

Direct drive has more precise extrusion, especially at start and end of line because it eliminates the slack in bowden tube. But note that bowden hides the crimes of your extruder and E motor, quality hobbed drive gear and good motor driver or tl-smoother is recommended. This design secures PTFE tube in hot-end so it doesn't push itself out (common problem with bowden). That prevents filament from collecting and solidifying in heat break and clogging the hot-end. Also, printing flexible filaments is tricky on bowden, with direct it should be easier (I haven't tested that myself). On the other hand, in theory it can introduce more ringing from added weight on printer head, but I didn't noticed that on my A10 (acceleration: 500, jerk: 10, speed: 50 mm/s).

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Cut PTFE tube so it's about 1.5mm longer than it would be flush with the hot-end cage
2. Screw in the mount to the top of hot-end cage using two screws securing heat sink to the cage (bottom is shaped to hold tube in place securely)
3. Then mount the motor and extruder to vertical wall
4. Profit...
