Description
My wife's aunt got a new cat and heard that I got a printer so she asked if I could make a bowl for her.
I really liked marcsulf's pet bowl design at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:247231 but as I'm new to printing I wasn't 100% comfortable with putting food in it. I changed it so it holds a stainless steel pet bowl that's about 135mm x 55mm.
The OpenSCAD file is set to a low resolution so it doesn't take forever to render. Change the $fn value from 30 to a higher value to smooth it out (I used 720 - that's probably overkill).
This model requires the Write.scad module for OpenSCAD, see https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:16193
To use the Write.scad module, copy the Letters.dxf and Write.scad files to the same folder that the OpenSCAD file you're using is in.
Included is the low-res STL file as an example.
I took the picture when the holder was fresh off the printer - I didn't clean it up at all. It looks a lot nicer after a bit of sanding and scraping. :-)
