Description
This is a remix of LucaCap's level sensor mount, adjusted to have stronger mounting holes. This version does require you to tap the threads of your bearing blocks for M4 threads. There is another remix of this design that uses dowels and doesn't require you to tap your bearing block, but it just doesn't look durable enough for me to trust installing it on my machine.
I like LucaCap's design, but printing in PETG or ABS I was having delamination issues with how thin the model got where it mounted to the bearing block.
This model works with 18mm Capacative sensors. I recommend printing in PETG for its flexibility and high temperature tolerance, but PLA or ABS should work fine as well.
I used DanRom624's recommended offsets and they are working great so far:
(as per https://www.thingiverse.com/make:461576)
'#define X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 32 // X offset: -left +right [of the nozzle]
'#define Y_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 62 // Y offset: -front +behind [the nozzle]
And these are the settings for probing grid dimensions
'#define LEFT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 40
'#define RIGHT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 200
'#define FRONT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 55 //if you set less than 55 it results in an error
'#define BACK_PROBE_BED_POSITION 200
I printed mine in 100% infill because...why not. The print time is quick and the weight difference is negligible.
