Description

Sim Racing Rim for the Ferrari 488 GT3 / GTE, setup to utilize a 70mm mounting bolt pattern. The only thing I wasn't able to full pull off was the momentary three position switches in each corner, I had a design that worked but was not 100% reliable so I decided to simply make them a single push button.

For smaller printer beds (ender3, etc), use this link for the top and body: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3510084

The grips are okay, but not great (the backside is to squared off IMO) - you will likely need to sand backside down to fit your hand better. I tried to adjust them in Fusion, but unfortunately I'm still learning the program and cannot figure out how to contour them without having to fully rebuild the grips, so if anyone knows what they're doing and wants to make the grips better, I can upload the grip file and you can have at it.

I ended up wrapping the grips in EVA foam tape and it makes them feel great
Here is a link to the exact EVA grip I used (comes with two rolls, you can wrap both handles with just one of the rolls): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XCFGXHV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The tolerances are very tight on all mating surfaces, so you will likely need to do some light sanding. I also undersize the bolt holes on the grips, so you will likely need to thread/tap the holes or size up with a drill bit depending on printer accuracy

Here are the links to what is used to build the rim:

Magnets for shift paddle assembly (15x2mm):

Microswitches for shift paddle assembly: https://www.ebay.com/itm/10Pcs-Micro-Roller-Lever-Arm-Open-Close-Limit-Switch-Kw12-3-PCB-Microswitch-Hot/253895385151?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
-These do not line up with holes on shifter, I always just super glue them in place. Also remove the arm that pushes the button, otherwise it won't fit underneath shifter.

The buttons are connected to a Pro Micro (Arduino or clone) board and the sketch used is the standard button box sketch found linked here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3025648

There is also a 12mm hole in the back of the body to either route your USB cable through, or you can install the aviation connector: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Aviation-Plug-Male-Female-Wire-Panel-Metal-Connector-12mm-2-3-4-5-6-Pin-GX12/113203031823?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=413501763728&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
