Description
Yet another lithophane lamp. I haven't seen one with interchangeable plates yet though, so hopefully someone finds this amusing at least.
This one obviously is (lightly) sealed, no hole to allow for a cord to plug in. Instead I wired up a bunch of bright white LEDs and connected to a pair of AA batteries. It's bright enough (a little brighter in person than in the pics) but definitely could be brighter. It's all I had on hand at the time, but it'll do. The LEDs by themselves point the light too much so to help diffuse I added some tin foil to help disperse the light. That's since been replaced with better stuff. If I make another I might go with a 9V and an actual LED bulb but we'll see.
I made this in a rather big hurry right before Christmas so it has a few flaws but it came out good enough to be a big hit as a Christmas present. The lithophane prints are not high quality because these vacation photos were taken with a potato. You can only do what you can do when your parents send you vacation pics which you can count the pixels on one hand.
